Environment day celebration was held at Samayajanahalli, Sreenivaspura Taluk on 05th June, 2017. The celebration was organized by BMSSS and nearly 100 women from different SHG group participated. Former Gram Panchyat president Manjunath Reddy inaugurated the program and was the chief guest. Officers from Forest Department and PDO were present for the program.
The Program started at 11.30 AM with the inauguration and later the chief guest of the program spoke about the importance of environment day. Mr. Manjunath spoke about growing forest which will safeguard us in the future. He also specified the deforestation and cutting of trees happening in many parts of Karnataka which is causing problem to the society. He further said that villagers should not deviate their mind from safeguarding the mother earth and keep the surrounding green by growing many trees.
As part of Environment day program plantation was done by the the guests as a mark of saving the mother earth. The participants joined their hand in Planting another tree and made the day memorable.
The program was organized by BMSSS field staffs from Mulbagilu who took keen interest in bringing many people and making them aware about the importance of environment. Many appreciated their good work and BMSSS remains grateful for all those who made the day joyful.
