Bangalore Multipurpose Social Service Society organised Inter College Seminar (Role of Youth in HIV/ADIS Awareness and Prevention) on 17th August 2013 at Palana Bhawana, Bishop’s house, Nandidurga Road, Jaymahal Extension, Bangalore-43. From three colleges St.Aloysius college, Tarbes community college and St.Anne’s college totally 133 students were participated in the seminar. Rev.Fr.Michael Anthony, Joseph Abraham and Sr.Hema was the chief guest of the programme. Seminar stated with opening song by St.Anne’s college students. Session stated with small skit by St.Anne’s college students regarding on HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention. It was very useful and meaningful act. The session was continued by the Resource person Mr.Kulandai Raj from BBC media action, National consultant for HIV prevention programme, hold master in mass communication and journalism. Briefly he explained from Beginning how HIV starts, symptoms of HIV, where and to whom to consult regarding HIV, What is the treatment given to the HIV patients, regarding discrimination and how to care our self and prevention against HIV. Mrs. Rose Mary has completed her master in social work in medical and psychiatry from St.Joesph’s college. She is working for people pro as a life skill trainer. She continued the session asking with questions regarding HIV/AIDS to the students and showing video clippings stories of Dignity. She explained the students about the discrimination and how to give respect to other people who are infected with HIV. Mrs. Rose Mary continued her session with collage. The topic given to the student is on Health. Students have done wonderful and creative work. Selected three best groups and distributed prizes for them.
