Pope Francis said in his 2019 message that the period from Sept. 1 to Oct. 4 - the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi - is being celebrated as a
"Season of Creation." The month-long ecumenical initiative has the theme, "The web of life." it implores us to get outside to connect with the
nature and appreciate the magnificence and splendor of the natural world around us.
It is at this site that Bangalore Multipurpose Social Service Society in collaboration with Paalana Bhavana organized a tree planting event to celebrate the "Season of Creation." on 4th October, Friday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Bishop's House Campus. The program initiated with the Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Cyril Victor (Director of Paalana Bhavana) along with Fr. Joseph Naveen Kumar (Director of BMSSS), Fr. D.S Arokia Swamy and Fr. Pius D'Souza.
Fr. Arokia Raj Satish Kumar (The Chancellor, Archdiocese of Bangalore) was the Chief Guest for the tree planting event. Fr. Arokia Raj Satish Kumar along with Fr Cyril, Fr. Naveen and staff from different Commissions of Archdiocese actively participated in the awareness rally followed by tree planting where they planted over twenty trees and made a sincere effort in making earth a better place for the future generation. The main aim behind the event was to make people realize the importance of the trees around them. The gardener of the campus shared his experience with nature and plants.
Participating in the event was a rewarding experience for the participants that they contributed to improve the biodiversity of the campus and to give back to the environment
