The CBR project team organized the international day of persons with disabilities, on 15th of December 2020 in the village of kappalamadagu, Mulbagal.
The program began with the prayer led by CBR project Staff member Mrs. Nagamani. Fr. Naveen the Director of BMSSS inaugurated the program. Mr. Venkatrama Reddy, the staff of CBR project welcomed the guest, PDO of Kapalamadagu Gram panchayat and Fr. Naveen Joseph the director of BMSSS and all the gathering. Asha workers, Anganwadi teachers and 110 specially abled people gathered for the event.
The PDO of Kapalamadagu Gram panchayat addressed the gathering and, in his speech, he gave clear information on the facilities available for the specially abled person. 5% grant, Toilet facilities, housing, street lights, Drainage and also prime importance given to specially abled, in the gram Panchayath. At the end he advised the specially abled people, saying, to lead a courageous life in the society.
Fr. Naveen Joseph the Director of BMSSS, mentioned in his message that specially abled people need to lead a good life and to benefit from all the facilities available from government, importance to self-employment and thus to be empowered economically, socially, for better health and in education. He advised the parents and the community to take good care of the specially abled persons in the family. The specially abled persons need to be respected and given importance in society. At the end he distributed the wheel chair to the differently abled persons.
Mr. Gopi the coordinator of CBR project explained the purpose of the project. That is to make aware of their entitlements from the family, community and the government.
The program was concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. Ramesh the staff of WEP project.
