Bangalore Multi-purpose Social Service Society (BMSSS) had organized a session for parents on Parenting skills at Paalana Bhavana, Archbishop’s house, on 23rd January 2021. The modern-day society is preoccupied by daily work and no time for children. It has led many children deprived of care and concern of their parents and start a life of getting addicted to several elements. Keeping this in mind and to enlighten the importance of mental wellbeing, BMSSS had organized parenting skills program. Mrs. Charlet was the resource person for the session. She talked about the important aspect of Parenting skills & Depression. The resource person explained on how to raise a child that God has given us. Parents need to express their love to their children. Good mental health and wellbeing will improve the quality of life. We need to respond properly with respect to the queries of our children. We need to Encourage and support our children. As parents, we need to have a dialogue each day with our children. We need to respect our children in our dealings with them. Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, Archbishop of Bengaluru was the chief guest of the event and gave a keynote address and explained to parents and animators how to treat and take care of thier children. The Bishop was so much interested to listen to their opinions and suggestions. The Bishop encouraged them to grow in their relationship with their children and asked them to give their best. Fr. Gabriel Christy, Sr. Lilly, Lawrence, Patrick and Fr. Xavier was present for this event. A total of 40 parents and animators benefited from this session.
