The Annual General Body meeting of BMSSS was held on 07th November 2020, in the Archbishop's house. It began at 10.45 am with the prayer conducted by Anitha and Selvita. Fr. Xavier, one of the coordinators of BMSSS welcomed the governing body members, the special invitees and all the members present for the meeting. Minutes of the previous meeting were read out by Fr. Naveen Joseph Kumar the Director of BMSSS and it was approved by the members.
The Eight projects were briefed by the project coordinators. They are namely, CBR project was presented by Mr Gopi. The aim of the project was to make differently abled persons live with dignity exhibiting their abilities and skills thus not becoming a burden to the society or to the family. The project ‘Mental Health’ was presented by Ms Asha. This project mainly focused on the prevention of risk behaviors, suicidal tendencies and atrocities in the family of the school and college students. Mr. Abdul the coordinator of ‘Sparsha’ (Cancer) Project presented the project outcome. The Project aims at bringing awareness on cancer disease and thus to establish cancer free society. The projects ‘Women Empowerment’ and ‘Kolping India’ presented by Mrs. Pushpalatha and Mr. Inban are shown the enhancement of the skills of women who carry on the self-sustained activities. Ms. Asha presented the report on ‘Navikarana’ which helped poor beneficiaries to good decent housing. Suraksha’ Project and ‘Promotion of Entrepreneurship’ was presented by Inban. This project was implemented in KGF area to mainstream women to become entrepreneurs and promote saftey health practices.
Many suggestions and clarifications were brought to the discussion. Some suggested to link with government schemes and make the officials aware of all the good works done by the BMSSS. In each project there was a set of targets, and some achieved more than the target. At the end of the meeting the annual magazine was released by the Archbishop Peter Machado. The meeting was concluded with a vote of thanks by Fr. Anbu John.
